⚗️ Trans-resveratrol vs "total resveratrol" — check which figure you are being given
These are not the same number. Total resveratrol counts the trans and cis stereoisomers together; trans-resveratrol is the isomer the research overwhelmingly concerns. A product declaring "99% resveratrol" without specifying which can contain materially less trans-resveratrol than one declaring 99% trans specifically — and the higher-sounding number is the vaguer one. Ours is declared as 99% trans-resveratrol. It is a small distinction that tells you a lot about how carefully a specification was written.
💊 Capsule size — what it does and doesn't tell you
Capsule shells have fixed, published volumes. A Size 0 holds roughly 500–530mg of powder at standard density, which is the right volume for 500mg of combined active. So size tells you what will physically fit — and nothing about what the powder is.
A larger shell is not a red flag in itself — our own 700mg NMN capsules use a Size 00 because that fill needs the volume. What matters is whether the shell size and the declared fill agree. If a product declares 500mg of active in a Size 00 shell, roughly 200mg is something other than the declared active, and the ingredient list should tell you what.

NMN is a nucleotide that sits one step upstream of NAD+ in the salvage pathway. Resveratrol has been studied in connection with sirtuin enzymes since Howitz and colleagues published in Nature in 2003 — though it is worth knowing that the assay method behind that early finding was later disputed, and the mechanism remains contested rather than settled.
What has not been established: no published human trial has shown the combination to be better than either ingredient alone. The rationale for pairing them is mechanistic and plausible; it is not a demonstrated outcome.
