Which training claims are actually allowed
In Great Britain a supplement can only use health claims from the official register. For anyone who trains, the useful ones belong to minerals: magnesium for normal muscle function, energy-yielding metabolism, protein synthesis, electrolyte balance and tiredness and fatigue; potassium for normal muscle function and nervous system function; zinc for normal protein synthesis, macronutrient metabolism and the maintenance of normal testosterone levels. Caffeine, L-arginine, BCAA, L-tyrosine, PEA and NMN have no authorised claim, however they are sold: no pump, no nitric oxide, no recovery, no muscle growth, no endurance. This page is in two parts. Part 1 is products containing a claim-carrying mineral or vitamin, where the claim is used. Part 2 is the amino acids and stimulants people buy for training, sold on specification.

Which sports supplements carry authorised UK claims?
Magnesium: normal muscle function, normal energy-yielding metabolism, normal protein synthesis, electrolyte balance and reduction of tiredness and fatigue, among ten. Potassium: normal muscle function, normal nervous system function, maintenance of normal blood pressure. Zinc: normal protein synthesis, normal macronutrient metabolism, maintenance of normal testosterone levels, among eighteen. Vitamin C: reduction of tiredness and fatigue and normal energy metabolism, among fifteen.
Does caffeine have authorised claims in the UK?
No. The alertness and endurance claims were assessed but never adopted into UK law, so no caffeine product can lawfully make them. We describe caffeine by purity, CAS number, mesh and dose. Any UK seller telling you what caffeine does for training is making an unauthorised claim.
What about L-arginine, BCAA and L-tyrosine?
No authorised claims for any of them. L-arginine is sold as USP-grade hydrochloride with the assay published; BCAA as a 2:1:1 instantised powder fermented from corn; L-tyrosine as fermentation-derived free-form. Nothing about pump, nitric oxide, recovery or muscle growth is claimed, because nothing is authorised.
How much caffeine is safe?
UK guidance is up to 400mg a day for healthy adults, 200mg in pregnancy, from all sources including coffee and pre-workouts. Caffeine anhydrous powder must be weighed on a milligram scale; a teaspoon is a dangerous amount. Capsules remove the measuring risk. Not for under 18s.
What does elemental magnesium mean?
Magnesium glycinate is magnesium bound to glycine. A 650mg capsule provides about 85mg of actual magnesium, 23% NRV. The compound weight and the mineral weight are different numbers; we publish both.
Is the potassium citrate suitable for tested athletes?
The supplier dossier confirms no IOC or WADA banned substances and no nandrolone or precursors, and no allergens handled at the site. That is rarely published on consumer listings. Other products are not batch-tested for banned substances; ask before competing.
Do your capsules contain fillers?
No. Capsules are the active ingredient and a vegan HPMC shell. Tablets need binders to compress, and those are declared on each tablet page; we do not claim no fillers on tablets.
