Yes — NMN is sold in the UK as a food supplement under UK food law when properly labelled. It is not a medicine, is not regulated by the MHRA and needs no prescription. When should I take it, and for how long?
One capsule daily with food. Published human trials have generally used morning dosing and run eight weeks or longer, so morning with breakfast and a minimum eight-week run is the closest match to the research protocols. Do not exceed the recommended intake.
Capsules or powder — which should I choose?
The NMN is identical; only the format differs. Capsules give a fixed measured serving and travel well. Our NMN Powder costs less per gram, lets you weigh your own serving and suits sublingual use or filling your own capsules. Our capsules can also be opened and used sublingually.
500mg or 700mg?
500mg is the strength used in most published human NMN trials and the usual starting point. Our 700mg capsules in a Size 00 shell suit people already taking NMN who want a higher single-capsule strength and fewer capsules per day.
Is NMN safe? Are there side effects?
Published human trials have reported no serious adverse events at doses up to 1,200mg/day, with mild transient digestive symptoms in a minority. NMN is a relatively new ingredient with limited long-term human safety data. Consult your GP before use if you take prescription medication, have any diagnosed condition, have a history of cancer or are in cancer treatment, are immunocompromised, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. Not suitable for under 18s.
How fresh is the stock?
Shelf life is 24 months from manufacture. Nicotinamide Mononucleotide. A derivative of vitamin B3. CAS 1094-61-7, C₁₁H₁₅N₂O₈P, MW 334.22 g/mol.
β-NMN (beta-NMN)
The biologically active stereoisomer — the form that occurs naturally in human cells and food sources.
NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide)
A coenzyme found in all living cells, involved in cellular metabolism. Stated as factual biochemistry — not a product benefit claim.
NR (Nicotinamide Riboside)
A different vitamin B3 derivative, also studied as an NAD+ precursor. CAS 1341-23-7. Available separately from Charge Products.
Nicotinamide (NAM / Niacinamide)
Plain vitamin B3. CAS 98-92-0, MW 122.12. A different compound from NMN, and one that does carry authorised GB claims for energy-yielding metabolism and reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
